Greg Miller

Greg Miller

Greg has been involved in the retail industry for over 35 years most of which has been in managerial roles for Myer stores. Store Management, Regional Merchandise Manager and Buying Roles both with Myer and Target. He is married to Maria with 2 sons a daughter in law and a grandson. They moved to the island in 2006 and he joined the winery not long after. Greg is responsible for the day to day running of the winery, including marketing, sales, cellar door operations and staffing. Greg is heavily involved in the community through his roles as Secretary of the Kingscote Golf Club, Committee Member K.I Racing Club and Board Member Tourism K.I Like Arthur he too enjoys fishing and the odd punt. His favourite spot on the island is Pennington Bay and his 2 favourite wines are our Sauvignon Blanc and Shiraz.

Julie is from Menton which is located in a south part of France (Alpes Maritimes Côte d’Azur). What brought her to Kangaroo Island was love of the simple life, wildlife, and wine of course. Julie love’s Kangaroo Island because she enjoys being outside, hiking, fishing, camping… and everywhere you go it is beautiful. Her favourite places on the island are Pennington Bay, Red Banks and Vivonne Bay. Her favourite red wine is the Bay of Shoals 2007 Shiraz and she is a strong supporter of the 2011 Sauvignon Blanc. Julie’s message to you….If you want to know more things about the winery and our wines, i suggest you to come to give us a visit and enjoy the wine tasting with an amazing view of the bay.

Jemima Treble

Jemima Treble

Jemima was raised on Kangaroo Island from the age of five after her family moved over from the mainland.  As a child she thoroughly enjoyed growing up on this safe island and all its outdoor activities, especially the beaches and camping.  Jemima went to Adelaide to attend university after her schooling and completed a degree in Sports Science and Physical Education teaching. Jemima then moved to New Zealand (Napier) for 5 years where she completed three wine courses and developed an interest in wine making and wine promotion.  Jemima moved back to Kangaoo Island and has taught PE at the local school for the last few years.  She is now taking a break fromn teaching while she raises her two year old son.  Her favourite thing about working at Bay of Shoals winery is meeting and interacting with tourists from all over the world.  Jemima's wine recomendations are the 2011 Riesling and 2008 Shiraz.

Jon Ketley

Jon Ketley has a Degree in Oenology. He started as a Winemaker at Loxton in South Australia's Riverland region Working closely with legendary winemakers such as Kevin Pfeiffer, Alan Harris and Peter Taylor. Jon then transferred to the Barossa Valley and commenced work at the Penfolds Nuriootpa Winery and then Seppeltsfield Winery, as Winemaker, then Senior Winemaker, working with James Godfrey and Dean Kraehenbuhl.He has also worked overseas in California and has a large range of experience in other wine regions of Australia.Jon has been the winemaker at Bay of Shoals for the last 2 vintages. He enjoys his time on Kangaroo Island and on any day, his dog Astra can be found running around the property.

Arthur Green

Arthur Green

Prior to arriving on Kangaroo Island Arthur and his partner Mandy lived in Berri. Arthur has been involved in the heavy transport industry as well as potato farming in the South East. He moved to Kangaroo Island in 2007 and has made a huge contribution to the welfare of the vineyard, machinery and gardens. He is the forklift driver, the truck driver who doesn’t mind sharing the cabin with the occasional Huntsman spider. If there is something broken Arthur is the go to man who will fix it if it can be fixed. Arthur’s favourite spot on the island is Emu Bay and likes nothing better than to dangle a line in the water and also the occasional punt. Arthur enjoys the laid back atmosphere of island life. Apart from his beer Arthur enjoys our Sauvignon Blanc and Sparkling Rose.
